Parents are expected to volunteer a minimum of 2-4 hours of time before or during the season to help ensure a successful intramural program. AYSO does not permit paid coaches or paid referees to particpate in the intramural soccer program of its members. Therefore, the Kickers needs referee volunteers.
-
COACHES are responsible for their teams at both practice and at games. To the extent possible (beginning with the Midget and Girls 1 Divisions), practices should be held one day during the week. Every coach is required to attend a Safe-Haven clinic (3 hours) at least once and to be certified at the age-approriate Coaching Clinic.
-
ASSISTANT COACHES should be designated on every team to help the coach at games and practices and to substitute in the coaches absence. Assistant Coaches are also expected to attend Safe-Haven and Coaching Clinics.
-
REFEREES are the ultimate authority during the game. The Referee's primary responsibilities are to insure the safety of the players and to enforce the Laws of Soccer. Every prospective referee is required to attend a clinic and become certified at the appropriate referee level for the division.
-
Community Service Credit and a full fee refund (after officiating at 10 games) are available to all HS aged players who would like to volunteer to referee. All high school aged referees must complete the AYSO youth ref training course. (See What's New for the schedule)
Email augkat@verizon.net if you are interested in volunteering as a referee.
Training for coaches, assistants and referees will be provided to all volunteers. AYSO has a network of experienced trainers. See What's New for this seasons training schedule.
Please complete the VOLUNTEER BOX on your application or email kffnyc@aol.com to volunteer.
